Panagia Vounarkotissa

This unique religious refuge is arranged within a large natural cave, hewn into a rocky hill to the north of the community. During the Turkish occupation period, this hidden location was used by the Christians as a secret place of worship for their protection from the persecutions. Its interior is contemplatively lit by the natural light of the entrance and the candles of the faithful, who visit the cave for its miraculous soil.
