Prophet Elias

This picturesque, snow-white country chapel is perched on a hill along the road network that connects Alassa with Lofou. The spot offers an impressive and unobstructed panoramic view, which extends from the artificial Kouris dam to the coastline of Limassol. The small church was fully renovated in 1999, while inside it stands out a distinctive icon of the Prophet that was created by the grandfather of the former President of the Republic, Georgios Vasiliou. Owing to its isolated position on the mountain and its very limited interior space, it functions a few times a year and is not available for the celebration of weddings or baptisms.
