Saint Barbara

A very small and plain church located on the western side of Ayia Napa, which was completely destroyed by a strong earthquake and fully restored in more recent years. The surrounding area includes various ancient cells that during the early Christian era functioned as catacombs and refuges for the persecuted faithful. Today this picturesque stone structure is a quiet place of prayer, while it is also particularly well known for the many cats that find protection and care around the church.
