Saint Evfimianos

The church of Saint Euphemianos in the community of Kornos was created on the initiative of the Municipality of occupied Lysi, in cooperation with the Scout Corps of Cyprus and the Association of Old Scouts of Lysi. The purpose of the erection was the reproduction of the historic church, plundered by the Turkish invaders, that is located on the lands of Lysi. Saint Euphemianos (one of the 300 Alaman Saints of Cyprus) holds a special place in the hearts of the displaced people of Lysi. Indeed, beneath the church a special underground space has been arranged, which functions as a permanent exhibition dedicated to the plundered and lost cultural heritage of the occupied town.
