Saint George of Sporou

In the old village of Ktiri is located the chapel of Saint George, a small stone-built basilica of the 14th century with a gabled tiled roof. Although externally plain, its interior is covered with excellent wall paintings that depict scenes from the life of Christ and of Saint George. In the sanctuary stand out the wall paintings and the distinctive Holy Table that rests on a single column. The chapel holds services on the two feasts of Saint George, in April and in November.
