Saint George

This historic and picturesque little church is located at the northern edge of the community, within the boundaries of the refugee settlement that was created after 1974 for those displaced from occupied Acheritou. It is a small, single-aisled Byzantine structure with a dome, whose original erection dates to the end of the Middle Ages. Although the area originally belonged geographically to Frenaros, it was entirely ceded for the needs of the refugees, with the restored and excellently preserved church being today a living spiritual symbol of the new refugee community.
