Saint George

A devout and well-kept church that is located in the heart of the refugee settlement which was created after the events of nineteen seventy-four to house the displaced residents of occupied Acheritou. The chapel belongs to the ecclesiastical region of the Metropolis of Constantia and Famagusta and is the original religious core of the new community. It functions as a symbol of memory and preservation of the religious identity of the refugees, while the surrounding space teems with life during the local feasts and the community gatherings of the residents.
