Saint George

The imposing stone church of Saint George dominates the center of picturesque Vavatsinia. It is a historic structure of 1912, which was funded entirely by the expatriate Michalis Tsolakis as a kind donation to his home village. It is built on the site of an old terebinth tree, where the faithful used to pray and light their lamps.
