Saint John Eleimon

In the abandoned and ruined village of Vikla in the Limassol district is located the Holy Church of Saint John the Merciful. This religious monument was erected during the first half of the eighteenth century on the site where formerly the katholikon of a monastery dedicated to the Holy Cross had previously existed. It is a single-aisled and wooden-roofed church, which follows the traditional architectural type of the churches of the Troodos mountain range and is constructed of hard rough stones.
