Saint Mamas

This medieval church is located in the traditional core of the village of Louvaras in the Limassol district and is a historic monument of exceptional importance. It is a small-sized structure that follows the characteristic type of the wooden-roofed churches of mountainous Cyprus, with an intensely sloping roof and masonry of hard rough stone. Its interior is fully covered with rare, excellently crafted wall paintings of the end of the 15th century, which combine in a unique way the Western style with the models of the Macedonian School.
