Saint Megalomartyra George

This magnificent church stands dominating the center of the community and is the main church of the area's residents. The structure bears a traditional gabled and pointed tiled roof, while local tradition connects it inextricably with the saving of the island from the deadly epidemic of the plague. Indeed, on a nearby stone slab is preserved an imprint that the faithful consider comes from the hoof of Saint George's horse during the pursuit of evil. Owing to its comfortable interior space and its central location, the church is used normally for the celebration of all the ecclesiastical sacraments of the parish.
