Saint Nicholas Levkonoikou

This historic church is the patron and the main landmark of the eponymous occupied village of Mesaoria, which belongs administratively to the Famagusta district. Its original construction dates back to the period before the Ottoman conquest of the island, preserving the long religious heritage of the area. After the Turkish invasion of 1974, the displaced residents have founded an eponymous refugee chapel in Mathiatis of Nicosia for the preservation of their traditions.
