Saint Thekli (Ruins)

A roughly built, historic chapel that lies in a ruined state very close to the coastline of the occupied Karpasia peninsula. The site is surrounded by ancient tombs of various historical periods and is connected to maritime tradition owing to an old shipwreck on the adjacent rocks. At this spot, right where the waves break, gushes a famous and miraculous holy spring (agiasma) that is connected to the healing of illnesses. Because of the events of 1974, the structure remains without services, abandoned, and inaccessible for the free attendance of the displaced faithful.
