Sfantoul Mamant

In the completely deserted Turkish-Cypriot village of Marona in the Paphos district, in the valley of Diarizos, are found the ruined remains of the church that was dedicated to Saint Mamas. This historic edifice has been almost completely destroyed over the passage of the centuries and the abandonment of the community, so that only certain stone sections of its masonry survive. The site is no longer functional for the celebration of ecclesiastical sacraments, being a silent archaeological imprint of the old medieval Christian history of the area.
