Unknown Church

A church of exceptional historical importance that is the religious and social focal point of the smallest-sized Maronite village of Cyprus. During recent works of radical renovation and conservation, the technicians revealed hidden treasures beneath the plaster, such as a medieval stone baptismal font and embedded clay vessels. After the events of nineteen seventy-four, very few residents remained trapped in the community to keep the space alive. Today, the restored structure remains a symbol of faith and memory of the Maronites of the area.
