SAINT ANNA
This plain church is built beside Ottoman monuments in the Turkish Cypriot village of Alektora and was erected with simple materials immediately after the invasion of 1974. The purpose of its creation was to serve directly the religious needs of the displaced Greek Cypriot refugees who settled in the community. The building has a sloping wooden tiled roof, a semi-hexagonal sanctuary apse and an external metal bell tower structure in the enclosure. Despite its simplicity, the church is particularly honoured by the residents and remains fully functional for the celebration of every kind of sacrament
