SAINT BARBARA

The Holy Church of Saint Barbara is the central parish church of the frontier mountain village of Kampos tis Tsakkistras, nestled in the Kykkos mountain range. The building follows the type of the three-aisled basilica, constructed of local stone of the area and covered by a tiled roof that harmonises with the forest landscape. Its interior is adorned with an ornate wood-carved iconostasis and rare icons, constituting the principal spiritual core of the community.
