SAINT GENNADIOS (RUINS)
This monument is a ruined medieval church constructed of stone, which is located on the boundaries of the community of Kallepeia and the abandoned settlement of Moro Nero in Paphos. According to ecclesiastical tradition, the church is directly connected with Saint Gennadios, Patriarch of Constantinople, who had taken refuge in the area for an ascetic life and was buried there. Historically, clay pipes had been embedded in the walls of the building for the absorption of sound and the avoidance of reverberation during the services. Owing to its ruined condition it no longer has a functional roof or capacity and is mainly a historical attraction for hikers.
