SAINT GEORGE (OLD CHURCH)

This historic church rises at the south-eastern edge of the community and popular tradition connects its erection with the queen of Cyprus, Caterina Cornaro. It is a single-aisled basilica that in the past bore complete icon painting decoration, of which today only the wall painting of Saint Demetrios survives. Although its original iconostasis was destroyed, in its interior precious religious icons are kept that date from the 15th century.
