SAINT GEORGE

This picturesque and well-preserved chapel is built in the countryside of Alektora, in the rural area that is known as Lakkos tou Frangou. The building was erected at the expense of the private individual Kostas Lanitis and remains in excellent condition, surrounded by a landscape that changes colours impressively according to the season of the year. The little church opens its gates to the faithful just once a year, specifically on the second day of Easter, when after the service and the litany procession traditional delicacies are offered. Owing to its very small interior space and the fact that it remains closed almost the entire year, it is not made available for the celebration of formal weddings or baptisms
