SAINT GEORGE

This very old church is located in the community of Acheleia in Paphos and is a noteworthy monument of Byzantine style. According to a relevant inscription at its western entrance, the construction of the church dates back to the beginning of the 18th century. In the interior of the building precious religious relics and historical icons survive dating from the 17th century, adorning the iconostasis of the church, which comes under the Holy Metropolis of Paphos and holds its festival on 23 April.
