SAINT GEORGE

This imposing church is the central and parish church of the community of Koilineia in the Paphos district. Its erection was completed in the mid-1950s with the use of local stone, replacing an earlier and smaller church that could not meet the needs of the residents. The building dominates the centre of the village and is the religious and social focal point for the community. The memory of the patron Saint George is honoured festively every year on 23 April with a large attendance of faithful.
