SAINT GEORGE

This historic church is the central church of the community of Marathounta in the Paphos district and is dedicated to the Great Martyr Saint George. The stone structure was completed at the end of the 19th century and is distinguished for its vaulted design as well as for the imposing bell tower that rises at the corner of the forecourt. The church dominates the centre of the village and is the main religious and spiritual core for the residents and the visitors of the area.
