SAINT GEORGE

The picturesque seaside Chapel of Saint George is built on the Aliki coast of Chlorakas in the Paphos district. It was erected at the beginning of the 1960s at the expense of the great benefactress Zena Canther, marking the historic spot where Georgios Grivas Digenis landed secretly for the beginning of the liberation struggle. Today the church is an integral part of a wider memorial site and museum, while owing to its idyllic view over the Mediterranean it is an extremely popular destination for the celebration of weddings.
