SAINT EUSTATHIOS

This very old stone church is built at the southern edge of the community, at a very short distance from the famous medieval castle. Its present structure as a three-aisled basilica with a dome resulted from radical interventions and extensions that were carried out during the fifteenth century by the Knights of the Order of Saint John. In its interior two layers of medieval frescoes survive, among which an impressive, large-scale representation depicting Saint Eustathios as a mounted soldier stands out
