SAINT EFFIMIANOS

The church of Saint Euphemianos in the community of Kornos was created on the initiative of the Municipality of occupied Lysi, in cooperation with the Cyprus Scouts Association and the Association of Former Scouts of Lysi. The purpose of its erection was the reproduction of the historic church, looted by the Turkish invaders, that stands on the lands of Lysi. Saint Euphemianos (one of the 300 Alaman Saints of Cyprus) holds a special place in the hearts of the displaced people of Lysi. Indeed, beneath the church a special underground space has been created, which functions as a permanent exhibition dedicated to the plundered and lost cultural heritage of the occupied town
