SAINT THEODORE

The church of Saint Theodore the Recruit, built on a small hill in the centre of the community, began to be erected in 1956 and was completed in 1970, on the site of an earlier church of 1847. From the old church only the wall painting of Saint Theodore survives. The present church is a three-aisled basilica with a cruciform dome, tall columns, a wooden iconostasis and three entrances. The women's gallery is on the western side, while the church has been gradually decorated with wall paintings in recent years.
