SAINT THEODORE

This historic church dominates a rise at the entrance of the mountain village of Lemythou in the Limassol district. It belongs to the characteristic architectural type of the single-chamber timber-roofed church of Troodos and bears a closed, gamma-shaped portico on its western and southern sides. Although it suffered serious damage from a fire in the 1970s, it was fully restored and today functions as the official Icon Repository of the community, housing Byzantine icons of priceless value
