SAINT LEONTIOS

This small religious monument is a traditional vaulted church of the last years of the Venetian rule, dedicated to Saint Leontios. Originally it was located in Acheleia within the area of the present runway of Paphos airport, from where it was moved for safety reasons to the Anatoliko industrial area, at the boundaries of Koloni and Geroskipou. The church functions as a metochi of the Holy Monastery of Saint Neophytos and preserves unaltered the devotion and the simplicity of medieval architecture. It is a distinctive historical stop for the workers of the area and for passing pilgrims.
