SAINT MARONAS

The holy church was built to meet the religious needs of the Maronite refugees who settled in Anthoupoli after the events of the Turkish invasion of 1974. The official inauguration of the building took place in 1987, in the presence of the ecclesiastical leadership of the Maronite community and the political leadership of the country. The church is located opposite the homonymous primary school and is the principal spiritual, social and cultural centre for all the Maronites who reside in the wider area of Lakatameia.
