SAINT MERKOURIOS

This isolated, timber-roofed stone little church is hidden within the dense vegetation of the Paphos forest, at the location of an old abandoned settlement. It is the only church on the entire island that honours the memory of this particular Saint, having been built upon the medieval ruins of an earlier church. Owing to its unique position beside an organised picnic site, it offers an environment of complete tranquillity, ideal for private prayer and contact with nature.
