SAINT NICHOLAS GALATARIAS

This small, stone-built chapel is located approximately three kilometres south-east of the community of Galataria, built upon an impressive rock in the valley of the Xeropotamos. The church is distinguished for its simple, vaulted construction and has two heavy wooden doors as well as a traditional wooden bell tower. In its interior precious medieval wall paintings survive dating to the first half of the 16th century, making it a hidden architectural and religious treasure of the Paphos district.
