SAINT NICHOLAS GIALIAS

This ruined church is a historical and archaeological monument of exceptional importance in the community of Gialia in Paphos. It is located at a very short distance from the well-known medieval Georgian Monastery of Panagia Chrysogialiotissa, built beside the banks of the homonymous river of the area. Excavation research brought to light its architectural remains and an old watermill, demonstrating the close religious and cultural relations that had developed between Cyprus and Georgia in the past.
