SAINT PANTELEIMON (RUINS)
This church is the katholikon of the historic monastic complex of Saint Panteleimon in occupied Myrtou in the Kyrenia district. Before it was converted into a monastery, there was at the spot a smaller parish church which was demolished for the erection of the present double-aisled basilica. After the Turkish invasion of 1974, the site was savagely looted and was used as a military camp, while recently large-scale conservation works were completed for the saving of its structure from collapse.
