SAINT SERGIOS AND BACCHUS

This small, single-aisled and vaulted little church is located in the Limassol district, hidden beneath the shade of a centuries-old terebinth tree that exceeds eight hundred years in age. Although in the past its interior bore rich wall-painted decoration, later interventions with layers of plaster covered most of the depictions, leaving visible only a few fragments on the northern wall. The church now holds services rarely, but is nonetheless an extremely picturesque religious monument of the Cypriot countryside
