UNKNOWN CHURCH (RUINS)

In the occupied village of Vouno in the Kyrenia district, which owing to its geographical proximity is often referred to in relation to the wider mountainous area of Nicosia, the remains of the historic church of Saint Romanos survive. This church, which followed the type of the single-aisled basilica, has suffered extensive damage and total collapse with the passage of time and abandonment. Today the monument stands in ruins, now being a silent archaeological remnant of the Christian heritage on the northern slopes of Pentadaktylos.
