APOSTLE BARNABAS

This picturesque church is one of the three main parish churches that serve the neighbourhoods of the mountain community of Agros. It is dedicated to the founder of the Church of Cyprus, the Apostle Barnabas, and is built at a central point of the village, surrounded by the striking relief of Pitsilia. The building follows the traditional architectural lines of the area, combining local stone with wooden detailing. Owing to its welcoming character and its beautiful location in the mountains, the church is often used for the celebration of weddings and baptisms both by locals and by visitors
