APOSTLE BARNABAS

This magnificent church is located in the centre of the refugee housing estate of Agios Ioannis in Kato Polemidia and is an architectural ornament of the area. It is built as a three-aisled cruciform basilica with an imposing central dome, combining a modern earthquake-resistant frame of reinforced concrete with a beautiful external facing of traditional Kyvides stone and decorative red bricks. Owing to its large size and comfortable forecourt, it is the focal point of the religious life of the residents of the area
