APOSTLE LUKE

This church is located in the centre of the historic community of Kouklia in Paphos and is the main parish church of the village. The original building suffered serious destruction from a powerful earthquake, with the result that it was rebuilt from the foundations in 1895. It is a stone-built church of basilica style with a tiled roof, which stands out for its traditional elegance among the vernacular houses. The community honours its patron Saint with full ceremony, holding a large annual festival on 18 October.
