ARMENIAN CHURCH OF PANAGIA OF TYROU
This important medieval monument was originally the Latin convent of Notre Dame de Tyre. It was granted to the Armenian community during the Ottoman period and was its principal spiritual core within the Venetian walls of Nicosia. After the intercommunal disturbances of 1963, the church was cut off in the occupied area of the capital, with the result that its regular operation or the celebration of private sacraments is no longer feasible.
