ANCIENT MONUMENT OF HOLY CROSS MONASTERY (RUINS)

This ancient monument, also known as “Monastiroui”, comprises the ruined remains of an old church and monastery of the Holy Cross in Kallepeia in Paphos. Owing to the collapse of the building, the site has been partly repaired and has been officially declared a protected ancient monument by the Department of Antiquities of Cyprus. Today only stone walls and rubble survive that reveal the medieval religious activity of the area. Owing to its ruined condition it has no functional capacity and is mainly a historical stop for walkers and pilgrims.
