CHAPEL OF SAINT GEORGE FTOCHOU

This very small and plain shrine is located on the geographical boundaries of the wider Ypsonas and Alassa area, built on the basis of traditional local stone. It is an extremely humble place of pilgrimage that is closely connected with folk piety, as its name alludes to the Saint who protects and hears the economically weak. Owing to its extremely limited dimensions and the lack of the necessary facilities, the space functions mainly for private prayer and the lighting of a candle, making the holding of formal sacraments impossible
