CHURCH OF SAINT CATHERINE (METOCHI OF SINA)

This church is an official metochi of the famous and historic Holy Monastery of Saint Catherine of Mount Sinai which is located in Egypt. Its erection in the area of Agios Andreas in Nicosia was completed during the second half of the twentieth century in order to serve the needs of the Sinaite fathers. It functions as a quiet spiritual haven, keeping alive the ancient ties of Cyprus with the great monastic centre of the desert.
