CHURCH OF SAINT AMVROSIOU

The church of Saint Ambrose, built in the 14th century in the centre of the village, is an important architectural monument. It is a single-aisled basilica with a gabled roof, stone-built and reinforced externally with piers. It stands out for its gilded wood-carved iconostasis of 1877, the old icons and the surviving wall paintings. The bell tower, the inscriptions and the renovated precinct complete the distinctive beauty of the church, which is considered an ornament of the community.
