CHURCH OF SAINT GEORGE MAKRI

This is a picturesque, stone-built chapel of Larnaca situated upon a low hill overlooking the Salt Lake. The church was originally the church of the medieval settlement of Agrinou, which was completely destroyed by raids during the 15th century. Its name was given in contrast to Saint George the Short owing to its distance from the historic centre, while today its surrounding area offers a quiet spiritual refuge
