CHURCH OF SAINT DEMETRIOS

This historic church is the main church of the community of Nikokleia in the Paphos district and is dedicated to Saint Demetrios. It was erected during the second half of the 18th century under Archbishop Chrysanthos, using traditional stone of the area as well as architectural members from ancient Palaipaphos. In the interior of the building the noteworthy wood-carved iconostasis stands out, making the church an important spiritual and historical core for the faithful of the area.
