CHURCH OF SAINT EVLALIOU (RUINS)

This church is located in the occupied area of ancient Lambousa in Karavas in the Kyrenia district. It is built upon the ruins of a large early Christian basilica that was destroyed during the Arab raids. Owing to the Turkish invasion of 1974, the church is now within a controlled military zone and remains inaccessible for the services and the sacraments of the displaced faithful. The structure of the building incorporates ancient columns in its interior, preserving the precious historical and religious identity of the area.
