CHURCH OF SAINT JAMES

This imposing church is the central church of the community of Konia in Paphos and is dedicated to Saint James the Brother of God. Its erection was completed in 1980, while its official inauguration was celebrated the following year under the daily personal supervision of the then Metropolitan of Paphos Chrysostomos II. It is a modern building of Byzantine style with a large forecourt, which serves all the needs and the cultural events of the village. The community honours with a festival the memory of its patron Saint every year on 23 October.
