CHURCH OF SAINT KORNILIOU

This distinctive Chapel in Paralimni is built in cruciform Byzantine style with a dome and is one of the very few little churches in Cyprus that are dedicated to Saint Cornelius the Centurion. It was erected in the mid-1980s on the site of an earlier and makeshift church, which had suffered serious damage. From the original building the old Holy Altar was saved and transferred into its interior, as well as a rare icon of vernacular style, while the church stands out for its beautiful icon painting
