CHURCH OF SAINT XENOPHON

This is a historic chapel of unique religious significance, which is found a short distance to the north-east of the core of the village of Mazotos. The church is dedicated to Saint Xenophon and is more widely known in Cyprus by the epithet Agios Xorinos, as he is considered the protector who drives away evil and illnesses. In its interior a renowned miraculous icon of the 19th century is kept, while every year at the end of January the site attracts hundreds of pilgrims from across the island
